National Urgent Care Awareness Month-May

The Urgent Care Association (UCA) has declared May as National Urgent Care Awareness Month. STATMD Medical Center & Urgent Care invites the community and its neighbors to learn more about how urgent care may improve their health and life, honor outstanding clinicians and staff, and raise awareness about our critical sector.

Urgent Care is a walk-in medical clinic with medical physicians and mid-level providers that may treat illnesses and injuries that require rapid attention. There were around 9,616 urgent care centers in the United States as of 2019. It is less expensive and distinct from a hospital or an emergency department.

National Urgent Care Awareness Month recognizes the rapid growth of the urgent care industry in the United States, as well as the importance of urgent care for several common medical issues.

These facilities assist satisfy the requirements of customers on their timetables while reducing emergency department congestion. This is especially critical during the current worldwide pandemic, as urgent care facilities are well-positioned to aid their communities in these unusual circumstances. STATMD and other urgent care clinics play an important part in freeing up emergency rooms and have been the backbone of the healthcare industry’s survival in recent years.

Consumers seek the convenience of instant access to high-quality care and increased breadth of services, such as immunizations and testing, as the sector continues to grow.

However, many consumers are still unaware of the benefits of urgent care clinics for several common medical issues. As a result, the UCA has declared May to be Awareness and Education Month.
