What is a Cut?

A cut is a wound that is caused by an object or surface which cuts into the skin. The medical term for a cut is “laceration”.

Cuts are often accompanied by bleeding and pain.

There are many ways to treat a cut. The most common way to treat a cut is to put pressure on it and elevate the area above the heart level to reduce bleeding. You should also clean the area with soap and water, apply an antibiotic ointment, and cover it with sterile gauze or adhesive bandages.

How Do Rashes Affect the Human Body?

What are Sutures?
